Oh Maryland weather…It changes so drastically. One day, it’s 70 degrees and the next it is snowing. There is no reasoning with Mother Nature honestly. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful changes of scenery though.
A couple of weeks ago, it had snowed a wonderful dusting all over the trees. It didn’t make the roads or walkways slick at all. It just made everything beautifully white. It was truly like a blanket of clouds. It wasn’t the coldest of days either, it was quite enjoyable.
Within the last week or so of February, we have experienced spring like weather. Oddly enough, it has risen to 70 degree temperatures lately, when last year at this time we had our shovels out. I’m not complaining, I love warm weather! My son and I took advantage of the situation. We have taken a few trips to local parks, played soccer in the back yard and even rode bikes.
There is a local trail that we haven’t gone to in almost two years, because last year I was battling an ankle injury. So, I was looking forward to this opportunity to join my son in the experience of going back. My son decided to take his new electric scooter on the trail, while I rode my bike. Because my bike has sat for sometime, I had to inflate the tires back up. We packed water and we took off. I was horribly out of shape, but I’m determined to get back to my old self and keep up with my son. Overall, it was nice to enjoy this early spring with my son, again. I love not being stuck in the house and taking advantage of good weather. It makes us both feel good to be active.
My favorite part about the warm temperatures during the winter is that I can open my backdoor. With no leaves on the trees yet, I can see the water out in the distance. It is quite a wonderful sight while the sun sets. It is clearly a majestic way to end the day calmly and with peace.
However, when there’s spring, then comes rain. Rain is a beautiful part of nature as well. The sounds of the raindrops and the freshening of the air. The power of thunderstorms is also amazing. Regardless, I have loved the experience of this year’s weather changes. I believe my son has enjoyed them, too.
