My life finally consists of more sleep, especially without having 12am drills to remind me to move that nuisance elf on the shelf. Is it sad that the best part of Christmas Eve night besides placing the gifts under the tree and admiring the moment was having to stuff that elf in a box and erasing my midnight alarm? I never thought this day would come! I contemplated on doing a victory dance, but I opted out for Santa’s cookies and more sleep instead.
If you haven’t read my recent blog, Elf on the shelf, I advise reading it to understand why I feel so negatively towards this elf. I don’t like him running my life and now I get my revenge by keeping him in a box for 11 months. How do you like them candy apples?!
Again, I admit that I enjoy my son’s admiration and joy towards his elf, Timmy. I love the laughter that follows after finding him in a quirky spot or the smiles he shows when he speaks to his tiny elf. Timmy brings out the innocence in my little boy and the moments that I wish I could capture forever. Those are the only reasons why I would care for this elf.
